Embracing Life's True Potential
In my thirty-year quest to be 'Superwoman,' meticulously orchestrating every aspect of my life and relationships, I wasn't just seeking control but hiding. I compensated for the levels I had sunk to in my 20s. Buried beneath this facade of control were deep-seated feelings of shame and guilt about my past and the fear of people finding out. It was a shield, a way to avoid confronting the parts of myself that I feared the most. Yes, I achieved success in my career. But in doing so this way, I inadvertently veiled myself from the universe's magnificent offerings. Putting up this shield and facade blocked me from my most authentic self and the best version of me and robbed me of healthy realtionships with those that matter most.
This realization hit me profoundly: my need for control was rooted in the fear that if I didn't manipulate every outcome, I would end up with nothing and be no one. It was a fear that whispered constantly that my worth was tied to my ability to manage every aspect of life to my desired outcome. But life, in its true essence, isn't a series of events to be controlled. It's a tapestry of faith-based experiences, each woven with a story and lesson.
Shadow work became my escape from this need to control and out on a Wonder Woman cape and to come into my wholeness. It involved diving into those dark corners of my psyche, confronting the parts of myself I had long ignored or suppressed. This journey was challenging. It required courage, vulnerability, and an unwavering commitment to self-discovery. But as I embraced my shadows, negative traits, and the parts of me I deemed unlovable, I found a sense of liberation. The shame and guilt that once shackled me became sources of strength, love, and gratitude.
In my role as a life force strategist and business coach, and through my personal experiences, I've come to understand that true empowerment doesn't come from control. It comes from the courage to face our shadows, these neglected and shamed parts of ourselves, and integrate all aspects of ourselves into our being. In this integration, we find wholeness, and from wholeness, we align more authentically with the universe and what indeed is our destiny.
Meditation, journaling, affirmations, and exercise are not just daily practices; they are tools that assist us in this integration journey. They provide clarity, strength, and a connection to the present moment, allowing us to embrace life as co-creators, not controllers.
We find balance in understanding that control is a fleeting comfort, a temporary harbor from our deeper fears and unhealed wounds. When we release this need and embrace our whole selves – shadows included – we open ourselves to the true magic of the universe. It's a space where we no longer act out of need or fear but from a place of love, faith, intuition, and a deep trust in the journey.
This journey from shadows to wholeness has taught me that we're not merely passengers in life but active participants in its grand, unfolding narrative. And in this narrative, every aspect of our being has a role, contributing to the beautiful complexity of who we are. Here, in our wholeness, we find that what the universe has in store for us is far greater than anything we could have ever controlled or imagined.
