Gratitude isn’t woo-woo BS. Gratitude the ultimate space for receiving, an energy that opens us up to abundance, connection, and alignment. In my life, and especially my business, gratitude has become the foundation of what I call soulful prosperity—success that doesn’t just hit financial goals but nurtures my spirit and creates harmony across all areas of life. Gratitude goes way beyond a surface-level “thank you.” It’s about embodying gratitude as a force that fuels growth, strength, and joy.
1. Gratitude in Leadership: Creating a Culture of Abundance
When I launched my coaching business, I had zero capital. No investors, no safety net—just a heart full of gratitude and a clear vision of who I wanted to be and serve. Gratitude was the fuel that kept me going, even without a financial net. I didn’t let fear or scarcity take control. Instead, I focused on what I already had—the skills, the connections, the drive—and clients started to show up. Gratitude was my only “capital,” it was more powerful than anything money could buy.
In leadership, gratitude is about creating an environment where people feel valued. Imagine a room where everyone feels seen and appreciated, where wins—big or small—are acknowledged. That’s the kind of energy that gratitude brings. It’s magnetic, and it builds a culture that people want to be part of.
Try This: Start each team meeting with a check-in where everyone shares personal and professional wins. Encourage people to recognize their efforts, no matter how small. Watch how the energy shifts as everyone feels seen and connected.
2. Gratitude as a Tool for Resilience: Building a Mindset Free from Fear and Scarcity
Entrepreneurship is hardly a straight path; it’s a wild, unpredictable ride. When everything fell apart for me—financial losses, accusations, a broken partnership, another failed marriage—gratitude was the anchor that kept me grounded. I chose to focus on the abundance surrounding me, even if it was as simple as the bounty from my garden, a walk on the beach, my breath, or the support of the people who believed in me. I wasn’t ignoring the pain; I was leveraging gratitude to break free from a scarcity mindset. I could have easily gone into victim mode. Gratitude guided me beyond survival mode to building a business and a life that nourishes my soul.
Gratitude, especially in tough times, shifts focus from what’s missing to what’s always present, and that mindset is what builds resilience. When we’re grateful, we see opportunities instead of obstacles. We stay rooted in abundance, even when we are taking risks as we do in business and life. That is how we grow and self-actualize.
Try This: When facing a tough decision or considering a bold move, write down three things you’re grateful for that came from a risk or chance you took. This shift in focus will pull you out of fear and scarcity mode, grounding you in the rewards of stepping outside your comfort zone. Approach new challenges with confidence, knowing the power of taking chances.
3. Self-Gratitude for Inner Prosperity: Receiving Abundance from Within
Gratitude is also about valuing yourself and recognizing your growth. High achievers often skip over self-recognition, always pushing for the next thing. But if we don’t take time to honor our journey, we end up chasing and running on empty. Self-gratitude is how we fill our cup, keeping us aligned and energized.
I use practices like visualizations, Kundalini yoga, breath work, journaling, meditation, and activations to connect with self-gratitude. These practices create space for me to receive, to appreciate my resilience and growth. Here is a simple visualization to help you tap into this space of receiving.
Try This: At the end of each day, write down three things you’re proud of or grateful for about yourself. Self-gratitude is fuel. It’s what keeps us strong, connected, and open to more.
